Pfeiffer's Domenech Resigns to Be AD at Severn School

Pfeiffer's Women's Lacrosse Coach Julian Domenech had resigned his position to become the Athletic Director at Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland. Over the past six seasons, Domenech has led the Lady Falcons to 3 Conference Tournament Championships and a record of 65-34. The Lady Falcons finished in the top 10 in the country four of the six season while earning CVAC Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2007.

Pfeiffer Softball Earns First Regional Bid

champions_hands.jpgMisenheimer, Nc. – The Pfeiffer University softball team has earned a berth to the 2008 NCAA DII Softball Championships, announced by the NCAA Sunday. The Falcons will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Regional. The bid is the first for the Falcons (30-21) who will face first-seeded Carson-Newman (46-6) on Wednesday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m.

Beltran Invited to Regional

INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals that will compete in the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships. Brittany Beltran of Pfeiffer has been selected to participate as an individual.  Beltran was jut named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.

The 2008 NCAA Division II women’s golf regional competition will be conducted May 5-7. Each regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with six teams and three individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. All participants will compete throughout the 54 holes of competition. The top two teams along with the top two individuals not with a team from each regional, will advance to the championships. The 2008 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships will be held May 13-16, at Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.

Men's Golf Qualifies for Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS---Pfeiffer University is one of eighty teams and 50 individuals that have been selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships super regionals. The super regionals will be conducted May 5-7. The sites and teams selected to participate are listed below. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in brackets next to the institution’s name. The five super regional tournaments encompass the current ten regions. The top team from each region within the super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 14-17 at the Division II Spring National Championships Festival in Houston, Texas.

Pfeiffer WGolf Wins Conf. Tournament

CLEMMONS, NC -- Pfeiffer University held onto its slim lead after two rounds of the Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championships on Tuesday by firing at 305 to edge Belmont Abbey by two strokes in the three-day, 54-hole event. Pfeiffer, ranked 14th nationally, finished 315-319-305--939 while Abbey, ranked 17th, finished at 321-314-306--941. Third place went to Anderson University at 1049. Pfeiffer also claimed the first two individual spots. Charlene Reid took medalist and Tournament MVP honors at 76-76-72--224 (+11) over the par-71, 5,721-yard layout. Her teammate, two-time Conference Player of the Year Brittany Beltran, earned second place at 78-76-72--226, followed by Abbey's Carley Warrington at 77-77-75--229, Limestone's Katie Clayton 82-72-77--231 and Abbey's Liz Cortez took fifth 83-78-76--237. Rounding out the All-Tournament team were: Abbey's Michelle Low (241), Pfeiffer's Lina Elmsater (241), Abbey's Alena Hutchinson (243), Pfeiffer's Molly Tullar (248) and Anderson's Sophie Dembroski (253).
