Women's Soccer Wins 4-0 Misenheimer, NC--- The Lady Falcons shutout visiting USC-Aiken 4-0 in non-conference play Monday afternoon in women's soccer action. Pfeiffer(3-2) used Laura Crews' hat trick to help defeat the Pacers(1-3-1). Pfeiffer opened up quickly grabbing two goals in the first 10 minutes. In the third minute Kristen Brahosky sent a through pass and Laura Crews was able to beat the Aiken goalie to the ball and calmly but it into the open net. Six minutes later the Falcons doubled their lead as Maria Reis passed a ball past the Aiken defense and Crews was again able to beat her defender to the ball and slipped it past the goalkeeper from 15 yards out. The rest of the half became a midfield battle as the Aiken defense settled down and the Falcon defense only let one shot get to goal. Pfeiffer came out in the second half and again scored two goals in the first 10 minutes. Laura Crews completed her hat trick in the 53rd minute. After taking the ball 40 yards from goal she dribbled past two defenders and beat the goalie with a hard, low shot from 18 yards. Two minutes later Kirsten Bartsch scored the fourth Falcon goal. Megan Blevins sent a beautiful pass that Bartsch beat her defender too and shot it past the goalie from 20 yards out. Jennifer Lindow, Susan Hinman and Mary Kathryn Mason combined in goal for the shutout for Pfeiffer. Coach Denton said, "This was a good win for us going into the conferencem season. This helps us see what we need to work on and what we can build on." Pfeiffer returns to action Saturday when they host Limestone at 2:00 pm.
