Falcons fall in final game

Aiken, SC – The Pfeiffer Falcons fell to the No. 7 Pacers of USC Aiken on Thursday evening 14-2. This non-conference non-playoff game is the last of the season for the Falcons who end with an overall record of 26-20-1. Aiken marked its 16th straight victory with the win over Pfeiffer. The Pacers are now 35-14 on the season.
Pacer Stephen Carmon (Camden, SC) picked up four RBI on a grand slam to right field in the bottom of the third inning. With the bases loaded he connected for a hit to deep right field. The baseball hit the top of the fence and then bounce over for Carmon’s second home run of the year. The four-run mark by Carmon in the bottom portion of the third inning gave the Pacers a 9-1 lead after three innings.
Later in the seventh inning the Falcons marked their second run of the day when Eric Shoemaker (Huntersville, NC) scored off of a SAC fly by Josh Strickland (Liberty, NC).
USC Aiken scattered five runs over the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to take the 14-2 victory.
Strickland had Pfeiffer’s only RBI. He was 1-3 at the plate. Medina was 2-4 with one run scored, while Shoemaker was 1-4 with one run scored.
Leading the Pacers was Stephen Carmon (Camden, SC) who was 3-3 with four RBI and three runs. Ken Raborn (Evans, GA) was 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored.
Falcon Jason Brown (Walnut Cove, NC) suffered the loss, while Pacer reliever Thomas McLeod (Chapin, SC) picked up his first victory in the win.
