Coach Davis to speak in Alaska
June 4, 2009
Misenheimer, NC -- Pfeiffer University’s head basketball coach Dave Davis will be the featured speaker at the state of Alaska's largest coaches’ clinic next week. Davis will speak on the “Pfeiffer System” which includes coaching tactics that emphasize constant pressure on both ends of the floor. Coach Davis, who just finished his 13th year as head coach at Pfeiffer, averaged 21 wins per season and directed a program that has led or has been the second leading scorer in NCAA Division I and II for seven consecutive seasons. The Falcons led the country in scoring in 2009 by averaging over 98 points per game.
"Frank said several people have told him Pfeiffer has one of the best systems in the country that uses a lot of small basketball players," said Davis. “It is quite an honor to be asked and I am really excited to see Alaska and even more excited to share the Pfeiffer philosophy. The dribble drive motion offense has received national attention with the success of Memphis over the last couple of years, but here at Pfeiffer we have been doing it forever."
