XC finishes 3rd in Durham

Durham, NC – The Pfeiffers women’s cross country team was in action last Saturday at the North Carolina Central Invitational. The women finished third in the meet, losing by just a few points to Division I NC A&T University. The women finished ahead of Conference opponents Barton and Mount Olive.

Pfeiffer was again led by senior twin sisters Stephanie and Samantha Rynas who finished 5th and 6th respectively overall. Stephanie's time was a 20:42 and Samantha's a 20:47. Freshman Chessa Parisi finished third for Pfeiffer at 22:11 followed by Magen Abernathy and Ellen Humphrey.

Coach Nolt commented, "Samantha and Stephanie have been working hard all year long, and we are right on schedule for where we expected to be. They are running the fastest times of their college careers this season and next week they will have a chance to be All-Conference. Magen is still bouncing back from early injuries and is getting better every week. I am excited about our prospects for the Conference meet."
