Four Falcons named All-Conference

High Point, NC – Four Falcons were chosen for the Conference Carolinas women’s lacrosse All-Conference teams. Krissy Bentolila was selected for the first team, while Heidi Karaszkiewicz, Amanda Smith, and Jessica Turner made the second team. Pfeiffer finished the season with an overall record of 12-7 (9-3 conf.). The Falcons defeated Lees-McRae College in the tournament quarterfinals, 19-8, and then lost to Belmont Abbey College, 5-3, in the semifinals.
Heidi Karaszkiewicz, a junior from Glen Burnie, MD, was a conference Player of the Week this season and also a womenslacrosse.com honor roll selection. At the time of voting, Karaszkiewicz started in all of Pfeiffer’s 16 games at midfield scoring 38 goals and marking 8 assists. She grabbed 10 ground balls, won 28 draw controls, and caused three turnovers.
Amanda Smith, a sophomore from Leesburg, VA, played in all 16 games for the Falcons at defense. At the time of voting, Smith tallied three goals on the season. She scooped up 32 ground balls, won 35 draw controls, and caused 21 turnovers.
Jessica Turner, redshirt junior captain from Franklin, TN, started in all 15 of the games she played in this season. At the time of voting, Turner put two goals into the back of the net for the Falcons. She had 17 ground balls, won five draw controls, and had four caused turnovers.
The Conference Carolinas All-Conference Teams were determined by vote from each Head Coach of participating league institutions. Nominations were collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-Conference First Team, and All-Conference Second Team.
