Blevins and Brindley named to All-State team

Raleigh, NC – The North Carolinas Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced Pfeiffer’s Megan Blevins (Copley, OH) and Nick Brindley (Northamptonshire, England) were named to the College Division All-State women’s and men’s soccer teams.  Eleven student-athletes were chosen for each team and the All-State units consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders, and three forwards.  The team consists of student-athletes from NCAA Division II and Division III colleges and universities throughout the state. North Carolina sports information professionals submitted nominees and NCCSIA members selected the teams.

Blevins, a junior midfielder, notched four goals and nine assists this season for the Falcons, including two game winners.  Blevins was a 2008 1st team All-Conference and 2008 NSCAA 2nd team All-Region selection. She led Conference Carolinas in assists, placed second in assists per game, and ranked in the top ten for most points.  Blevins led her team through the Conference Carolinas Championship game and appearance in the NCAA regional tournament. She was selected for the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team.

Brindley, a sophomore midfielder and team captain, ranked second for Pfeiffer in points with 18.  He put three game winning goals into the back of the net for the Falcons this season.  Brindley was a 1st team All-Conference selection and was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for the fourth week of the season after notching a hat-trick.
