Mars Hill, NC – The Pfeiffer University Falcons lost to the Mars Hill College Lions in non-conference men's and women's swimming action on Friday evening. Pfeiffer put up a strong showing, even though the Lions almost doubled the Falcons in roster size. There was no doubt that Pfeiffer would lose the meet due to their numbers, but the Falcons showed they were true competitors by taking 10 first place finishes. The men lost 147-111, while the women lost by a score of 189-58.
Brittany Byrum (Matthews, NC) was the top finisher for the women’s team taking home two first place wins. She pushed through the last 10 yards and swam a 1:03.90 in the 100 yard butterfly. Byrum also out touched her competitors to win the 200 yard backstroke with a 2:17.99.
