Knight tabbed as Conference Carolinas Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Kash Knight (2-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's soccer Player of the Week during week number one in the 2009 season. Knight assisted on the first goal of the season for Pfeiffer on Thursday in the season opener at Catawba delivering the corner kick that led to the goal. Knight then went on to score the next two goals on breakaways, stealing passes from the defense in the Falcon 4-0 victory.
On Sunday at Brevard, Knight tallied the game-tying goal in the 84th minute leading to an eventual 3-2 Falcon win in overtime. For the week, Kash tallied an impressive seven points to get Pfeiffer heading in the right direction to a great start on the year.
Knight and the rest of the men’s soccer team opens up the home portion of their ’09 schedule on Friday afternoon against UNC-Pembroke. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at N.E. Lefko Field.
