Women's Golfer tees it up with the Champions Tour at Pebble Beach this weekend

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer freshman and newcomer to women’s golf Rene Kelly (Lehigh Acres, FL/Riverdale HS) will tee it up with the PGA’s Champions Tour at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open this weekend in Pebble Beach, California. Kelly, playing as an amateur, has been paired with Champions Tour member Dan Forsman for first and second rounds on the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links course and Del Monte Golf Club.
Kelly and Forsman begin their first round tomorrow morning at 8:36 a.m. on the 6,822-yard, par 72 Pebble Beach course. The two pair up again on Saturday afternoon with a 1:06 p.m. tee-time on the 6,357-yard, par 72 Del Monte layout. The Golf Channel will carry weekend coverage of the event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with final round coverage on Sunday from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
Forsman currently ranks 8th on the Champions Tour money list in just his second year on the senior circuit. Forsman has competed in 16 events this season grabbing six top-10 finishes, three top-five’s and a win at the AT&T Champions Classic back in March. Forsman fired a three-day total of 11-under par at the Valencia Country Club in Valencia, C.A. for his first career win on the Champions tour.
Playing professionally since 1982, Forsman literally towers over the competition standing 6’4’’ weighing in at 210 pounds. During his time on the PGA tour, Forsman garnered 64 top-10 finishes, including five wins. Forsman hails from Rhinelander, W.I. having played his collegiate golf at Arizona State.
