Demers Leads Women's Golf to 12th Place Finish at NSU Shark Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, F.L. – Sophomore Lady Falcon Chelsea Demers (Wilton, NH) fired rounds of 78 and 79 to lead Pfeiffer University to a 12th place finish at the NSU Shark Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern, at the par 72, 6,163-yard PGA National Resort and Spa.

Demers finished in a tie for 19th overall with a 157 total, while Joanna Coe of Rollins took home medalist honors firing a 70 and 69 for a 139 finish. Host Nova won the event firing a team total of 589. Pfeiffer’s team totals concluded at 687.

Other Pfeiffer finishers saw sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Asheboro, NC) conclude the two-day circuit with a T-58 finish at 176 (87/89). Jackie McMenimon (Easton, MA) wrapped up in 61st place at 177 (88/89), freshman Rene Kelly (Lehigh Acres, FL) 64th at 179 (94/85) and freshman Alison Cowles (East Longmeadow, MA) at T-65 with a 181 (94/87).

The Lady Falcons women’s golf team will participate in one more fall tournament taking place October 26-27th. Pfeiffer will travel to St. Augustine, FL to play in the two-day Flager Invitational in two weeks.
