NEWBERRY, S.C. – Pfeiffer University picked up its eight-straight victory with a 4-1 win at Newberry on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons scored a pair of goals in each half moving to 11-3 overall, while Newberry falls to 2-12-2.
In the first half of action, Pfeiffer put a pair of goals on the board in a 51 second time span for a quick 2-0 advantage. Less than a minute later, Barbosa headed home his fifth of the season off a corner kick by Fahret Salihovic (Charlotte, NC). Just before the break in the 43rd minute, Newberry cut the deficit in half with a tally from Adrian Ochoa who registered his sixth of the season.
Just after the break, Salihovic notched his own goal with a converted penalty kick in the 53rd minute after a yellow card was issued to Newberry goalkeeper Pedro Velazquez. Alex Landim (Brockton, MA) closed out scoring on the afternoon with his seventh of the season on an assist by Knight in the 77th minute.
