Dickens Leads Women's Volleyball Past Converse 3-0

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University got back on the winning track with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-19) sweep of Converse in women’s volleyball action on Saturday afternoon in Spartanburg, SC. The Lady Falcons improve to 18-11 overall, 13-3 in conference play, with the final week of regular season action looming. Converse drops to 6-26, 2-13.

Pfeiffer’s Brittany Dickens (Raleigh, NC) led the way offensively with a match-high 11 kills while Jordan O’Bryant (Reidsville, NC) and Kristina Mordini (Freeport, IL) each had five. Vanessa Gerig (Towanda, IL) set up the Lady Falcons with 25 assists. Sophomore Kaci Markham was the defensive leader with 14 digs. Pfeiffer hit at a .310 clip in the third and final set.

Converse was led by Tiffany Dean’s five kills and Caitlyn Smith’s seven assists. The Valkyries hit in the negatives all three sets finishing at -.051 for the match.

The Lady Falcons get back to conference action on Tuesday night with just two matches remaining in the regular season. Pfeiffer heads to Belmont Abbey on Tuesday night before wrapping up with Coker on Friday for senior night. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
