Phillips Finishes 15th out of 162 Runners at NCAA II Regional Meet

WINGATE, N.C. – Pfeiffer University freshman Lindsey Phillips finished in 15th place with a time of 24:30 to pace the Lady Falcons cross country team to a 16th place finish at the 2009 NCAA II Regional Meet at Wingate University on Saturday morning. Columbus State and Queens finished one, two as teams to move onto to the NCAA II National Meet in Terre Haute, Indiana. Entries included 23 teams with 162 total runners.

Lenoir-Rhyne’s Kate Griewisch finished in the top spot with a time of 22:35 on the 6k course. Whitney Bishoff of Anderson crossed the line second with a time of 22:42. Both move on as individuals to the national meet.

For Pfeiffer, junior Magen Abernathy finished 45th with a time of 25:56. Sophomore Kaitlyn Mullis clocked in with a time of 26:40 in a 71st place finish. Other finishes for the Lady Falcons were Yasmin Ingram (29:10/122nd), Rachel Biggerstaff (29:39/124th), April Hinson (31:01/132nd), and Chelsea Tysinger (32:50/142nd).
