Prim Breaks Another School Record as Women's Swimming Sweeps Lenoir-Rhyne and Converse

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Julianna Prim (Yadkinville, NC) broke her seventh individual school record, tenth overall, as the Pfeiffer University women’s swim team defeated Converse and Lenoir-Rhyne in a Breast Cancer Awareness dual pink meet on Saturday afternoon at the Merner Pool. The Lady Falcons defeated the Valkyries 63-51 and the Bears by a score of 64-53.
Prim’s record-breaker came in 400-yard individual medley. Prim clocked in with a time of 4:39.57 topping her nearest competitor by over 13 seconds. Prim also took the top individual spot in the 100-yard butterfly as well as in a pair of team relays. Along with Yukina Onoda (Concord, NC), Haley Carter (Huntersville, NC) and Nicole DiVaccaro (Woodstown, NJ), Prim helped started the day off on the right foot with a win in the meet’s first event, the 400 IM relay with a time of 4:15.28.
After starting the day off right, Prim, Onoda, Cater and Samantha Maness (Conway, SC) finished it off right with a relay win in the pink meet’s final event with a time of 4:39.57 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Maness, Onoda and Prim each won two individual events for the Lady Falcons while Carter secured one. Pfeiffer will dive back in the pool this Saturday in a dual meet at Catawba. The first race will begin at 11:00 a.m.
