Knight Named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for Week 2

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Devona Knight (Woodbridge, VA) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's basketball Player of the Week during week number two in the 2009-10 season. Knight, a junior guard, registered a pair of double-doubles leading Pfeiffer University to a 1-1 week which includes a conference opening win over Lees-McRae.

Against the Lady Bobcats, Knight went 6-of-9 for the field with a pair of free throws for a game-high 14 points, going along with her 10 rebounds and three blocks. On Sunday at Armstrong Atlantic, Knight posted another double-double with 11 points (5-of-7 shooting) and 11 more rebounds. Knight now has three double-doubles in the first four games of the season for the Lady Falcons. On the season, Knight is averaging 10.3 points and nine rebounds per game, shooting 57.1% from the field. 

The Lady Falcons get back to action tonight inside league play hosting Converse at 5:30 p.m.
