Men's Swimming Scores Win over Mars Hill; Ladies Fall Twice to Converse and Lady Lions

MISENHEIMER, N.C. Ė The Mars Hill College womenís swim team took home a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon over Converse and Pfeiffer in a double-dual meet in the Merner Pool. Mars Hill defeated Converse 129-93 and Pfeiffer 140-81. Converse scored a team win over the Lady Falcons 95-85. On the menís side, Pfeiffer came away victorious over Mars Hill with a 148-99 decision.
Pfeiffer picked up victories in the first four events, two by each team, to start the day off on a strong note. The 400-yard Medley relay of Samantha Maness, Haley Carter, Julianna Prim and Nicole DiVaccaro clocked in with a time of 4:19.57. In the menís relay, the Falcons ďAĒ relay of Patrik Persson, Kevin Parks, Zach McMichael and George Moreno edged out Mars Hill with a finishing time of 3:46.32.
In the mile swim, Maness finished first on the ladies side in 19:35.82. For the men, McMichael completed the 66-lap race in 18:11.04. In the menís victory, Edwin Torres, Moreno and McMichael each scored a pair of individual wins while Persson snagged one. For the women, Prim scored the only two individual wins in the 200 backstroke (2:12.19) and the 100 fly (59.81).
Pfeiffer will get back to action on Friday night, hosting Salem International at 7:00 p.m. in the Merner Pool.
