Both Swim Teams Hold Their Own at Wingate Meet on Saturday

WINGATE, N.C. – Both the men and women’s swim teams at Pfeiffer University participated in a double-dual meet held at Wingate University on Saturday afternoon. The men fell to the host Bulldogs by a final score of 130-65 while the women also faltered against Wingate77-18 and Lenoir-Rhyne 61-33.

Pfeiffer scored a pair of individual wins on the ladies side by Julianna Prim in the 200 freestyle (1:54.45) and the 100 free (53.86). For the men, Zach McMichael took home the only solo win in the 100 butterfly at 53.23. The men did score a victory in the final event, the 200 free relay with a time of 1:30.58. George Moreno, Edwin Torres, Mark Franz and Patrik Persson comprised of the relay-winning team.

Both teams will get back to action on Friday night, January 29th against Warren Wilson College. The meet will begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Merner Pool.
