Team Pfeiffer Cycling Starts Defense of ACCC Title Next Weekend AT NC State

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Team Pfeiffer Cycling will begin defending their ACCC (Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference) title next Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th for back-to-back road races hosted by N.C. State University. Pfeiffer will travel to the Pittsboro area for five long and hilly road races each day, with cyclists in several categories.
Justin Beard and Michael Robinson will race in the men’s “A” category which consists of a 63-mile race Saturday and 72-miles on Sunday. K.C. Fee will race in the women’s “A” slot running races of 54 and 56 miles over the weekend.
In the “B” field for the men, Arturo Bencosme and Michael Brown are saddled into 54 and 42 mile races next weekend. For the ladies, Stephanie Bunnett will try to win the 36-mile and 28-mile road races while Paige Beard runs in the “C” field that happens simultaneous with the “B” field, but is scored separately.
Eric Sekercan will participate in the men’s “D” field having to race 18 miles Saturday and 21 on Sunday. The “D” field races will turn into full sprints with the Sunday stretch ending on top of a third of a mile steep climb.
The ACCC consists of schools North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Georgetown, Appalachian State and many more. To prepare for the upcoming season, Team Pfeiffer Cycling has logged over 4,200 miles on the road since the new year.
