Team Pfeiffer Cycling Leads ACCC by 30 Points; Three Falcons Lead Overall

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – At the end of weekend two in the 2010 Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference schedule at Wake Forest, Team Pfeiffer Cycling continues to lead the division two schools holding a 30 point edge over Duke heading into this weekend’s event at the Naval Academy.
Saturday’s open time trials began in cold conditions with Team Pfeiffer Cycling scoring much needed points in the team standings. Kirsten Fee took second in the women’s “A” time trial while Stephanie Bunnett snagged the top spot in the women’s “B” trials.
Two hours later, road racing began with the men’s “A” event. Michael Robinson finished one spot shy of first for the Falcons. Later in the “D” race, Eric Sekercan registered a second place finish as well. On the women’s side, Fee and Bunnett also took home finishes in the runners-up spot while Paige Beard finished atop the podium with a win the “C” event.
Sunday morning began the criterium just outside Wake Forest’s BB&T Stadium. The flat, fast course saw Team Pfeiffer Cycling win the first three events. Sekercan, Bunnett and Arturo Bencosme took the wins, Bencosme tallied his first-ever collegiate win. Fee took second later in the day.
