Team Pfeiffer Cycling Makes It 3-for-3 in Weekend Wins; Lead ACCC by 64 Points

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Team Pfeiffer Cycling made it 3-for-3 in weekend wins after their performance this past weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy. Pfeiffer has three overall leaders and one second place through three weekends in the Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference (ACCC) mixed with D1 and D2 schools. Team Pfeiffer Cycling increased their overall lead in the D2 field by 64 points.
The event weekend began with a criterium run surrounded by snow and ice in Annapolis, MD. Team Pfeiffer Cycling’s scores were placed high enough to increase their overall lead in the ACCC.
Kirsten Fee took third place in the women’s “A” event by beating out D1 schools Navy and Maryland. Stephanie Bunnett took first with a photo finish sprint in the “B” race, winning a bike throw over competitors from Virginia Tech, Maryland and Navy. Paige Beard won the women’s “C” contest by out-sprinting the entire field for a comfortable seven second victory.
For the men, Michael Robinson finished fifth in the “A” race while Eric Sekercan took fifth in the “D” event. In between, the “B” run saw the Falcons Arturo Bencosme finished in the top-10 with a ninth place finish while Michael Brown crossed the line 12th.
ACCC division one teams consists of Marshall, Navy, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Maryland, West Virginia and Navy. Pfeiffer is in division two of the ACCC racing against the D1 school and the D2 schools listed below. Team Pfeiffer Cycling travels to William and Mary this weekend.
