Conklin Tabbed as Conference's Pitcher of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Melanie Conklin (8-8 overall, 2-2 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas softball Pitcher of the Week during week number four in the 2010 season. Conklin earns the honors after tossing a one-hitter on Sunday afternoon.
Making her first-ever collegiate start on the mound, Pfeiffer University’s freshman Melanie Conklin came out and tossed a complete game, one-hitter in game two on Sunday at St. Andrews in a 9-1 victory for the Lady Falcons. Conklin surrendered just one run on one hit with a pair of strikeouts in the victory.
Conklin and the Lady Falcons softball team will host Queens in Conference Carolinas action Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
