Gamble Scores Four; Binder Assists on Five as Women's Lacrosse Rolls Regis (Co.) 16-5

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Freshman attacker Allie Gamble (Easton, MD) notched a game-high four goals leading the Pfeiffer University Lady Falcons to a 16-5 non-conference win over Regis (Co.) University in women’s lacrosse action Monday afternoon. Tory Binder (Woodstock, MD) helped out with five assists in the victory as Pfeiffer improves to 4-1 on the year. The Rangers suffer their third-straight loss to open up 2010.
The Lady Falcons took control early on registering the first three goals of the contest as Heidi Karaszkiewicz (Glen Burnie, MD) tallied the first while Binder picked up one of her assists on Sarah Hebberd’s (Golden, CO) strike. Alex Cook (Commack, NY) put home Pfeiffer’s third before Regis jumped on the board with a free position shot goal from Evelyn Pierrepont (Locust Valley, NY) at 23:16.
The next five shots to find the back of the net belonged to Pfeiffer, three coming with the man advantage, to grab a commanding 8-1 lead. Gamble hit on her first of the afternoon just after Jessica Moulton (Huntingtown, MD), before Hebberd, Binder and Natalie Marvin (South Berwick, ME) each hit with the extra attacker. The Rangers Morgan Taylor (Overland Park, KS) stopped the streak with Regis’ second of the afternoon before Gamble closed out the half with her second for a 9-2 Lady Falcon lead at the break.
Pfeiffer put a couple of quick second half goals on the board by Jessica Kennedy (Perth, AUSTRALIA) and Gamble, before the Rangers battled back to score three unanswered making it an 11-5 contest. Carly Wagner (Aurora, CO) struck at 25:07 in front of Kelsi Goings (Castle Rock, CO) hitting twice within a 72 second span.
The Lady Falcons however would finish off the Rangers with the final five tallies to end the day. Kennedy and Karaszkiewicz each scored 66 seconds apart while Gamble, Hebberd and Liz Melesh (Annapolis, MD) rounded out the day’s scoring.
Pfeiffer returns to action on home on Tuesday hosting Fort Lewis in another non-conference matchup beginning at 3:30 p.m.
