Team Pfeiffer Cycling Rides to Fifth-Straight Win; Increases ACCC Lead to 60 points

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Team Pfeiffer Cycling made it 5-for-5 in weekend wins after their performance this past weekend at Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia. Pfeiffer has three overall leaders and one second place through five weekends in the Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference (ACCC) mixed with D1 and D2 schools. Team Pfeiffer Cycling increased their overall lead in the D2 field by 60 points.
The event weekend held two back-to-back days of criteriums with Duke, VT, NCSU, GW and W&M working together to try to displace the Falcons. Team Pfeiffer Cycling’s scores were placed high enough to increase their overall lead in the ACCC at the end of the day. They gained back points lost at William & Mary while increasing the overall point lead.
Kirsten Fee took a first and a second to increase her place overall in the women’s “A” event by beating out D1 schools Navy and Maryland. Stephanie Bunnett took a pair of top sports over competitors from UVA, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Navy. Paige Beard won the women’s “C” contest.
For the men, Michael Robinson finished ninth and third while Justin Beard took ninth and tenth in the “A” race. Eric Sekercan scored a second place and first place finish in the “D” events. In between, the “B” run saw the Falcons Michael Brown cross the line in 10th and 15th place.
The Lady Falcons team won all six of their events helping push the overall lead back to a 60 point advantage.
ACCC division one teams consists of UNC, Duke, Marshall, Navy, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Maryland, UVA, Johns Hopkins, West Virginia and Navy. Pfeiffer competes in division two of the ACCC with the listed teams below. Team Pfeiffer Cycling travels to ASU to continue conference racing next weekend. The conference championships will be held April 17 at Virginia Tech.
