SEVERNA PARK, M.D. – Third-ranked C.W. Post held Pfeiffer to a season-low four goals in a 19-4 victory over the third-ranked Lady Falcons in non-conference women’s lacrosse on Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers stay unbeaten moving to 7-0 while Pfeiffer falls to 8-4.
C.W. Post quickly grabbed a 2-0 lead with goals from Lauren Spagnoletta and Ashley Olen before Pfeiffer’s Allie Gamble struck at the 24:43 mark. Olen started a streak of three-straight scores by the Pioneers until Alex Cook broke it up with a tally at 11:39 on an assist from Heidi Karaskiewicz for a 5-2 contest. C.W. Post closed out the half with seven unanswered goals for a 12-2 halftime lead.
After the break, the Pioneers turned seven-in-a-row into 11 before Jessica Kennedy broke up the scoring drought at 10:11 with an assist from Liz Melesh. With just under five minutes to play, Kennedy put home the Lady Falcons final tally to end a rough weekend in Maryland. Four Pioneers had at-least three goals with 37 shots taken.
The Lady Falcons will look to rebound on Wednesday afternoon traveling to St. Andrews for a Conference Carolinas match at 4:00 p.m.
