Men's Tennis Blanks Second-Straight Opponent; Cruise by Lenoir-Rhyne 9-0

HICKORY, N.C. – For the second-consecutive match, the Pfeiffer University men’s tennis team scored a 9-0 win on Thursday at Lenoir-Rhyne improving to 8-6 on the season. Lenoir-Rhyne falls to 1-13 with the loss.
The Falcons swept through doubles 8-3, 8-2, 8-3 before sweeping through singles play. Frank Pouchet had the only match run the distance with a 5-7, 6-2, 10-2 (tiebreak set) victory. All other Falcons rolled in straight-sets. Cody Simpson, playing in the fifth position, was up 3-0 in set one when his opponent retired.
Pfeiffer finishes the season with three Conference Carolinas matches beginning with Erskine on Thursday. Weather permitting, the men’s match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
