Men's Cross Country Starts Year with 6th Place Finish at Adidas-Seahawk Invitational

WILMINGTON, S.C. – Running in their first race of the season, the Pfeiffer University men’s cross country team finished four points behind conference foe Barton concluding in 6th place overall in the Adidas Seahawk Invitational on Friday. Host UNC-Wilmington won the meet with Campbell only one point behind in 2nd. UNC-Pembroke was the top finishing Division II team.
Falcon sophomore Will Oliver led Pfeiffer in 26th place overall, finishing the six kilometer (6k) race in 21:03. Freshmen Greg Kieler and Trey Sharpe came across the line second and third with times of 22:04 and 22:08, respectively.
Freshman Cody Bivens was Pfeiffer's fourth runner to finish clocking in at 23:18 while Zach Gray finished fifth in 23:38.
Taking this weekend off, Pfeiffer's next race is at the Wingate Invitational, the Bulldog Stampede, on Saturday, September 25th.
