Jacintho Wins Five-Way Playoff; Men's Golf "A" Team Claims Tournament Title

BADIN, N.C. – Pfeiffer University finished one stroke better on Tuesday afternoon hosting their own Pfeiffer Falcon Cup and they needed it. The Falcons edged the Queens “B” team with a two-day total of 595 to claim the title. Luiz Jacintho of Pfeiffer defeated four other golfers in a four-hole playoff to take home individual medalist honors. Jacintho birdied the par-4 first hole the second time around to win the event.
A tournament total of 145 got you into the five-way playoff as Robbie Ellis of Queens along with Jonathan Miles and Thomas Sennett of Pfeiffer were including with Josh Bamberger of King and Jacintho. Ellis turned in a tournament best one-under 69 to earn a spot in the final showdown.
The Pfeiffer “B” team and King College finished tied for third at 599. Pfeiffer improved by 17 shots on Tuesday to finish T-3 as all five squads did better in Tuesday’s round. Wingate’s “B” team finished fifth at an even 600 in the highly competitive men’s field.
The top five finishers, all included in the playoff, were named to the all-tournament team.
