MISENHEIMER, NC – Pfeiffer University scored four unanswered goals en route to a 4-1 win over Mount Olive College in Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field. Four different Lady Falcons registered strikes as the hosts improve to 7-5 overall, 4-2 in league play. The loss dips the Trojans to 5-7-1, 2-4.

A scoreless and quiet first half ended when both teams found the back of the net within 17 seconds of each other in the 33rd minute. Mount Olive’s Sarah Porter (Havelock, NC) put home her sixth of the year unassisted, taking a loose ball in all the way and sneaking her shot just inside the right post.

On the ensuing kickoff, Lady Falcon senior Megan Reaves (Mims, FL) sent a long cross over to Jessica Moulton (Huntingtown, MD) who quickly evened the contest at one with her first of the year. Pfeiffer grabbed the 2-1 halftime advantage as Moulton assisted on Mariah Martinez’s (League City, TX) second of the season. After Moulton sent the pass ahead, Trojan keeper Lyndsey McIntyre (Leesburg, VA) came out charging against Martinez as both slid with Martinez getting enough of the ball directing it into the empty net.

Lindsay Godwin (Raleigh, NC) put Pfeiffer up a pair scoring her second on the year with an assist to Reaves in the 48th minute. After Reaves’ header was turned away by second-half keeper Meagan Robeson (Jacksonville, NC), Godwin collected the rebound and put home the shot. Freshman Joi Chrishon (Fayetteville, NC) netted her first career collegiate goal in the 75th minute as Alyssa Wombwell (Grand Blanc, MI) sent a long pass to Martinez who slid a cross over to Chrishon for the game’s final goal.

Winning four of their last five contests, Pfeiffer will look to continue the streak on Saturday hosting Converse. Saturday marks senior day for six Lady Falcons in the 2:00 p.m. match against the Valkyries.
