MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University senior Chris Woods (Thomasville, NC) was recently recognized by the Division II Bulletin as one of the top 15 players in the country, and the preseason favorite to be the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year. Woods begins his senior year looking to solidify his place as one of the most accomplished players in Pfeiffer men’s basketball history.
Woods was named an Honorable Mention Division II Bulletin All-American following the 2009-2010 season in which he averaged 22.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in only 24.5 minutes per game. In addition to his All-American honors, Chris was also named a first team All Conference Carolinas member, NABC All-Region first team, first team NCCSIA All-State, and was also named to the NABC Honor Court.
“I am excited for Chris that his hard work is paying off,” stated Falcon Head Coach Jeremy Currier. “Few people work as hard as Chris on the basketball court, in the classroom, and being a person of integrity. It's always great to see good things happen to good people. Our basketball team is excited for Chris and his accomplishments, and we are focused as a group of improving every day and bringing championships back to Misenheimer.”
The Pfeiffer Falcons will begin their 2010-2011 season with an exhibition contest in Raleigh against the Wolfpack of N.C. State on Tuesday night, November 9th at 7:00 p.m.
