MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Josh Humphrey poured in a game-high 19 points with 11 rebounds leading the Falcons to a 70-45 win at Erskine on Tuesday night. After Erskine put up the game’s first six points, Pfeiffer stormed back on a 22-2 run to create separation. Humphrey knocked down two of the four triples in the span to help spark the run. Back-to-back threes by Jeff Pettiway and Kyler Gregory closed out the half as the Falcons held a 20 point lead at the break.
The Flying Fleet cut the lead down to 17 on several early occasions in the second half, but strong defense and consistent 44% shooting allowed the Falcons to maintain their 20-point plus lead.
Reggie Hollinger was the other Falcon in double-figures chipping in 16 points as 45 of Pfeiffer’s 70 points came off the bench. Erskine’s Chris Gore posted his own double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Filip Pejovic had 10.
