February 19, 2011
MILLEDGEVILLE, G.A. – Third-ranked Georgia College and State scored seven runs in the first three frames rolling to an 11-3 win over visiting Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Bobcats to 7-2 while the Falcons fall to 5-6.
GCSU tallied multiple runs in five different frames on Saturday en route to the win. The Falcons trailed 11-0 when their three runs on the day were posted in the top of the eighth. David Barham started the inning with a double to left-center, moving to third on Hunter Boehme’s infield single.
After a balk plated Barham and moved Boehme to second, Jacob Yates would score Boehme later in the inning on a groundout back to the mound. Preston Lyon accounted for the other RBI with a fielder’s choice that brought home Jesse Dunn. Lyon paced the Falcons with two hits on Saturday with a run driven in.
The final game of the three-game weekend series will take place at high noon on Sunday.
