MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University swim teams wrapped up the 2011 Bluegrass Mountain Conference meet on Saturday with eighth place finishes at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC) in Charlotte. The four-day event began on Wednesday night. The format saw preliminaries take place during the morning session with finals runs during the night sessions. Combined, Pfeiffer literally re-wrote the school record books shattering 22 school records at the MCAC.

The Lady Falcons finished with 144 championship points as Johns Hopkins University claimed the top spot in the 13-team field. Pfeiffer finished third out of the Conference Carolinas institutions. On the men’s side, Pfeiffer concluded eighth with 150 points as Wingate took home the top spot. Like the women, the Falcons wrapped up third among fellow conference schools.

Combined, both teams combined to represent Pfeiffer in 15 different finals swims in the four-day event. More information would soon be available on records broken and possible trips clinched to the NCAA II National Championship coming up in March in San Antonio, Texas.
