Men's Lacrosse Off to Best Start in School History after 10-8 Win at Wingate on Saturday

WINGATE, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University menís lacrosse team scored five unanswered goals spanning two quarters and made the lead stick as the Falcons collected a 10-8 NCAA Division II victory over Wingate University Saturday at Irwin Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field on the Wingate campus. Pfeiffer is 8-1 overall marking the best start in school history having won seven straight contests. The Wingate Bulldogs are 4-5 overall.
Four Falcons scored two goals each. Freshman midfield Steven Tilmon (Orlando, Fla.) topped the Pfeiffer point charts with two goals and two assists. Wingate freshman midfield Troy Press (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) scored the first two goals of his Bulldog career Saturday. Junior attack David Lee (Greensboro, N.C.) also contributed two goals for the hosts.
Wingate visits Queens University of Charlotte Wednesday at 4 p.m. Pfeiffer hosts Merrimack (Mass.) College Wednesday at 3 p.m.
