Women's Golf Finishes Fifth Out of 18 Teams in Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University women's golf team finished tied for fifth in the 18-team Pinehurst Challenge hosted by Wingate University on Monday and Tuesday. UNC-Pembroke won the team event in a playoff with St. Leo University. The Lions' Jordan Hatch took individual medalist honors with a 147 shooting 74, 73.

The Lady Falcons were led by freshman Angela Gimenez firing a two-day total of 158 with rounds of 78 and 80. Chelsea Demers followed Gimenez one shot back carding 79, 80.

Steph Peareth and Jackie McMenimon brought home third and fourth place finished team wise as Peareth turned in a two-day total of 166 while McMenimon hit two more shots. Lauren Lyle wrapped up the Lady Falcon team scores with a 171.
