April 16, 2011
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The magic ran out for the Pfeiffer University softball in their second Saturday morning contest falling to #5 Lees-McRae College 4-2 in the second elimination game of the day at the 2011 Conference Carolinas softball tournament. The Lady Falcons wrap up their season with a record of 20-30 overall.
Pfeiffer posted their two runs early as a Lady Bobcat error in the first and RBI-single to left by Sarah Waylock in the third put the visitors up 2-0. A sacrifice-fly in the Lees-McRae third put them on the board while an outfielding error in the fifth helped tie the contest 2-2.
After a brief rain delay in the bottom of the sixth, another Lady Falcon fielding error plated the two decisive runs allowing the Lady Bobcats to stay alive in the tournament. Each team had five hits and three errors in the contest.
