Woody Named Assistant Coach for Lady Falcons Soccer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University head women’s soccer coach Elijah Denton has announced that Maggie Woody will join the Lady Falcon soccer staff as assistant coach for the upcoming 2011 season. A North Carolina native, Woody played on the pitch at division one Liberty for three seasons before a knee injury kept her out in her senior season.

Calling Asheville her hometown, Woody ventured to Liberty playing in 46 career matches with 28 starts. In the midfield, Woody was named to the Big South’s All-Freshman team in 2006 before adding a pair of goals and assists, including the game-winner at UNC-Asheville, in 2007. Woody was also a member of the Charlotte Eagles W-League team back in 2006.

The Lady Falcons soccer squad will open up the 2011 season one month from today, Thursday, September 1st at 4:00 p.m.
