Men's Golf Wraps Up 7th; Women Conclude 14th at Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Pfeiffer University men's and women's golf teams placed seventh and 14th respectively at one of the largest tournament fields of the season at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne College. Thomas Sennett posted the best weekend on either side firing a one-under 143 after rounds of 72-71. Steph Peareth led the Lady Falcons with a tournament total of 162.
On the men's side, Michael Blair finished inside the top ten with a first round 69 en route to a 145 two-day total. Cameron Fields concluded three back on Blair while Luiz Jacintho crossed the finish line two behind Fields at 150. Tyson Louth concluded team scoring with a 154. All 10 rounds for the men were under 80 in the tournament. As a team, Pfeiffer wrapped up with a 586 team total, just six shots out of the runners-up spot, 14 behind tournament champs Wingate.
Behind Peareth on the women's side, Chelsea Demers posted a second place team finish with a 165 to finish three back of Peareth. Lauren Lyle put up a pair of rounds in the mid 80's to conclude three back of Demers while Meredith Beavin and Victoria Purcell wrapped up the Lady Falcons team scoring. As a team, Pfeiffer posted a 689 total as UNC-Pembroke won the event by three shots over Tusculum.
