Women Finish 6th while Men Conclude 11th at Annual Conference Carolinas Meet

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Competing in the annual Conference Carolinas championship meet, Pfeiffer University finished sixth on the women's side, eleventh on the men's in their respective 5k and 8k meets on Friday afternoon at McAlpine Park. Once again, Queens swept the top team and individuals spots as the men won for the fourth-time in five years while the women made it three-straight.
Lady Falcon senior Kaitlyn Mullis brought home a top-20 finish to once again lead Pfeiffer with a time of 19:37. Megan Hunsucker followed Mullis finishing three seconds over the 20 minute mark in 26th overall. Vlada Mouravieva crossed the line three spots later in 20:09 with freshman Justine Serje clocking in 33rd at 20:13. Rachel Biggerstaff (22:38), April Hinson (24:21) and Nina Ubabuike (24:24) rounded out team scoring for the Lady Falcons.
For the men, Will Oliver again led the way with a time of 27:15 to finish 34th overall. Josh Roberts followed with an even time of 28 minutes in 48th. Trey Sharpe concluded third on the team in 58th with a time of 28:34 before Joseph Sutlive, Zack Allen and Jeff McClure each crossed back-to-back-to-back starting with Sutlive's 29:25. McClure wrapped up in 29:28 while McClure finished seven seconds later. Cody Bivens (29:59), Cody Jones (30:37) and Fred Travis (32:37) finished team scoring for the Falcons.
Pfeiffer will now prepare for the NCAA II Regional Meet on November 5th back at McAlpine Park hosted by Queens.
