Led by Anuna's 18, Starters Lead Men's Basketball to Four Point Win at Lynn Wrapping Up Florida Trip

BOCA RATON, F.L. - Getting solid performances by four starters, Pfeiffer University grabbed a 69-65 win at Lynn University on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons improve to 4-2 on the season behind KC Anuna's team-high 18 points. Lynn stands at 2-3 after the four-point defeat.
Back-to-back three-pointers by Elijah Matthews and Josh Humphrey broke a 14-14 tie starting at the 8:15 mark of the first half. The Fighting Knights' Josh Garcia converted a pair of fastbreak layup's with under four minutes to play to cut the Falcons lead to two, before Garcia helped Lynn cut the deficit to just one at halftime with two more quick strikes as Pfeiffer led 29-28 at the break.
Down 48-47 at the midway point of the second, Reggie Hollinger and Danny Smith provided the offense in a 10-0 run as the Falcons grabbed the lead for good. Smith had six of the 10 while Hollinger contributed the other four until Garcia stopped the run with 6:01 remaining in the contest. The clincher came with 19 ticks left as Smith drained a pair of free throws from the charity stripe to put the Falcons up by four.
Anuna went 6-of-8 from the floor knocking down a triple and five free throws to lead Pfeiffer. Humphrey followed with 17 on 7-of-10 shooting with three triples while Smith and Hollinger each contributed 12 and 11. Garcia paced Lynn with 22 in the loss.
Pfeiffer will now enjoy a week off before heading north to Lincoln in Pennsylvania next Saturday night.
