MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University saw five players score at-least 14 points while dropping a dozen three-pointers during an 88-63 victory over visiting Barber Scotia in non-conference men’s basketball action inside the Merner Gym. The Friday night victory moves the Falcons to 5-3 on the year while the Sabers dip to 2-15.

Playing in his first game of the season, Desmond Thomas (Baltimore, MD) came out and scored Pfeiffer’s first eight points using a pair of triples to begin the 53% shooting night for the Falcons. A Barber Scotia layup by Tyrell Alston cut it back down to 10 with 4:06 remaining before Pfeiffer closed out the half with an 8-2 run for a 16-point halftime lead.

After an early bucket by the Sabers’ Kevontae Hairlson to begin the final 20 minutes, Pfeiffer again raced out on a 10-0 run to go up as much as 28 with 13:35 remaining. Danny Smith (Baltimore, MD) would register eight-straight points during that span. A pair of consecutive free throws by Smith and Reggie Hollinger (Orlando, FL) gave the Falcons their largest lead of the night at 32, 83-51 with 5:01 left.

Smith would lead all scorers with a game-high 18 on the night followed by Thomas’ 16. KC Anuna (Nashville, TN), Tayron Gibson (Dumfries, VA) and Hollinger each finished the night with 14. Kameen McPleasant led the Sabers with 13 points.
