Women's Basketball Rank Among Nation's Best Teams; Rhoney and Cox Appear in Individual Categories

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University women's basketball team finds themselves ranked high in five categories in the latest national rankings released by the NCAA on Friday afternoon. The Lady Falcons are top-50 in two major team categories, one inside the top-10, while individually seeing a pair of names inside the top-20 offensively.
As a team, Pfeiffer currently ranks eighth in the nation in three-pointers made per game out of 281 teams averaging 8.5 triples a contest. Oklahoma-Panhandle leads the country averaging 14.4. In total scoring offense, the Lady Falcons stand 38th overall dropping 73.3 points on opponents in each tilt. Glenville State leads the way with an impressive 97.8 points per game.
Individually out of the top 300 ranked, Kellie Rhoney finds herself currently ranked ninth in the country in assists per game averaging 5.7 helpers while standing 20th in assist to turnover ratio at 1.95. Brittany Cox enters the weekend 20th averaging 2.8 three-pointers made and just outside the top-20 in 21st in total points per game at 18.6.
Cox, Rhoney and the rest of the Lady Falcons are back in action on Saturday night hosting Limestone at 5:30 p.m. A battle of the league's top teams sees Limestone enter 10-4 overall, 4-0 in conference play while Pfeiffer stands at 8-5, 3-1.
