Early Second Half Spurt by North Greenville leads to 77-59 Loss for Women's Basketball

TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Host North Greenville opened the second half with a 25-9 run on their way to a 77-59 victory of Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon. The win pushes the Crusaders to 13-4 overall, 8-1 in league play while the Lady Falcons, who put four in double-figures, evens to 8-8, 3-4.
Both teams traded leads often early in the first half until Pfeiffer grabbed their largest lead of the day with 6:29 remaining after a pair of free throws converted by Jodie Lemons. At that point, the Lady Falcons held a 26-19, seven-point advantage, before holding on to a three-point, 30-27, lead at the break.
A quick three by Lemons to start the second half put Pfeiffer back up six just 15 seconds in, but over the next 2:07, North Greenville would erase the deficit after a trey from Karly Stache. The Crusaders then started a 16-3 run to break open the matinee going up 14, 52-39 with 11:37 to play. North Greenville would hold the healthy lead from there getting up as much as 19 late in the period.
Lemons led the Lady Falcons with 14 points on the day and coming up a board shy of a double-double. North Greenville picked up a 24-point, 10-rebound day from Courtney Friddle. Pfeiffer helped out the hosts committing 19 turnovers in the loss.
