Women's Basketball Continues to Make Splash on National Scene; Cox and Rhoney Rank Inside Top-20 in Two Categories of Latest NCAA Rankings

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The 2011-2012 Pfeiffer University women’s basketball team continues to make a splash on the national scene after the latest statistics were released by the NCAA on Monday afternoon. The Lady Falcons find themselves comfortably inside the top-20 nationally in four individual and one team category.
The highest ranking for the Lady Falcons comes in the three-pointers per game category as a team standing sixth out of 281 ranked teams averaging 8.4 triples per game. Oklahoma Panhandle leads the way with a whopping 14.2 three’s a game. Also a team, Pfeiffer stands 46th overall averaging 71.9 points per game.
On the individual side of the rankings, Kellie Rhoney (Catawba, NC) and Brittany Cox (Winston-Salem, NC) currently have a pair of top-20 rankings under their belt with 300 players being ranked. Rhoney stands 11th in assists per game (5.6) and 13th in assist to turnover ratio (2.12). Cox enters the new week 15th in scoring at 19.1 points per game and 17th in three-pointers per game at 2.8.
Cox, Rhoney and the rest of the Lady Falcons get back on the court at eastern division foe Coker on Tuesday before hosting Belmont Abbey during Blackout Night on Saturday.
