Tuttle Leads Baseball to DH Split at Georgia College; Falcons Win Game One 2-1 Before Bullpen Falters in 6-1 Loss

MILLEDGEVILLE, G.A. - Pfeiffer University picked up a Friday afternoon split in baseball action at Georgia College by scoring a 2-1 win in the opener before falling 6-1 in the nightcap. The Falcons and Bobcats both even to 5-5 overall after the split.
The Falcons needed two unanswered runs late as the Bobcats struck in the first for their lone run on a Cody Maas sacrifice fly. Bobcats errors led to the pair of Falcon runs starting in the sixth as Jon Gray scored via error during his swiping of third base. In the eighth, Gray provided the game-winning hit by singling home Jacob Yates.
Bryan Tuttle pitched a fantastic first game for the Falcons picking up the win behind seven innings of work allowing one run on five hits fanning nine. Craig Bolton scored the save by tossing the final two frames allowing just a hit with one strikeout for her first save of the season.
In game two trailing 2-0 in the sixth, Justin Harris singled home Gray to cut the Bobcats lead in half before the hosts jumped on the Falcon bullpen for four in the eighth. Harris and Gray each collected two hits offensively for the Falcons.
The rubber game of the series takes place on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
