Dew Powers Softball to Game One Win; Lady Falcons Earn Split with Brevard

Box Score

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University and Brevard College split a non-conference softball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field. The Lady Falcons took the opener 2-1 while the Tornados rallied for an 8-1 win in game two. Pfeiffer evens to 2-2 on the year while the Tornados improve to 5-1.

Ashlee Ellen put the Lady Falcons on the board in the fourth with her first career collegiate home run with a shot down the left-field line. After Brevard used small ball to tie it up in the fifth, a two-out RBI-single in the sixth by Celia Dew led to the eventual game-winner. Shelby Brown earned the win in the circle allowing just one run on six hits. Dew finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.

Brevard got its offense rolling in game two with two in the second before Pfeiffer's lone run came on a Tornado error at first in the third. The Tornados added insurance in the form of six more in the sixth to round out the day.
