Tilmon Completes Hat Trick with OT Game-Winner as Men's Lacrosse Sneaks Past Florida Southern 7-6

MISENHEIMER, N.C. Ė Steven Tilmonís (Orlando, FL) goal with 1:37 remaining in overtime propelled Pfeiffer University past Florida Southern College 7-6 in menís lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Falcons to 2-2 overall while the Mocs drop to 1-4.

Pfeiffer had to comeback in the closing seconds of regulation just to force overtime. Trailing 4-1 at the half, Florida Southern came out and scored five unanswered goals in the third and fourth quarters to carry a 6-4 lead with 5:57 remaining. Cole Paciejewski (Prince George, BRITISH COLUMBIA) would get the Falcons to within one with 1:23 on his strike from James Shepherd (St. John, NEW BRUNSWICK) before Shepherd turned around to assist on Tucker Hammockís (Marietta, GA) game-tying man-up goal with 38 seconds left in the fourth. After the Mocs had possession and a couple of chances to score in OT, Tilmon netted the game-winner with 97 seconds left.

Early on, the Falcons had control scoring the only three in the in the first started off by two back-to-back from Tilmon. Shepherd would hit with 21 seconds left in the first before the Mocs got on the board with Dane Sorensonís (Victoria, BRITISH COLUMBIA) 3:06 into the second. Shepherd would score again with 6:24 to play before the half on the second-straight assist from Elliot Gilbert (Corning, NY).

Kevin Naslonski (East Setauket, NY) would score the first two goals in the five-goal second half span for Florida Southern while Mat Thompson (Akwesasne, ONTARIO), Ricky DiMicco (Bel Air, MD) and Sorenson would each tally once for the Mocs final goals.
