Little Earns Pitcher of the Week Honors After Tossing Gem vs. Nationally-Ranked Tusculum

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Keith Little has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week during week number five of the 2012 season. Going up against the nation's third-best team according to the NCBWA national poll, the southpaw absolutely shutdown Tusculum losing his no-hit bid with one-out in the ninth during a 1-0 shutout win over the Pioneers.
Tusculum came into the day 15-0 on the year before Little tossed his gem going 8.1 innings allowing just the one hit with six strikeouts to stifle one of the nation's best offenses. The Mooresville native retired the side in 1-2-3 fashions in five of his eight innings of work, not allowing a single base runner to reach third.
Little and the rest of the Falcons will head to Newberry on Wednesday night before hosting Coker for an early-season pivotal three-game series at Joe Ferebee Field on Saturday and Sunday. Pfeiffer is 11-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
