Little Named National Pitcher of the Week After Stellar Outing vs. Tusculum

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – After securing player of the week honors in Conference Carolinas this week, Pfeiffer University’s Keith Little has gone on to be named the NCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Week by D2BaseballNews.com. Going up against the nation's third-best team according to the NCBWA national poll, the southpaw absolutely shutdown Tusculum losing his no-hit bid with one-out in the ninth during a 1-0 shutout win over the Pioneers.
Tusculum came into the day 15-0 on the year before Little tossed his gem going 8.1 innings allowing just the one hit with six strikeouts to stifle one of the nation's best offenses. The Mooresville native retired the side in 1-2-3 fashions in five of his eight innings of work, not allowing a single base runner to reach third.
Little picked up a no-decision last night at Newberry in a little over five innings of work. Pfeiffer hosts Coker for an early-season pivotal three-game series at Joe Ferebee Field on Saturday and Sunday beginning with two at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
