Men and Women's Tennis Win Second-Straight League Matches Whipping North Greenville 6-3

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University tennis teams doubled up North Greenville 6-3 in Conference Carolinas action on Monday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center. The ladies improve to 6-9 overall, 2-4 in league play while the men bump up to 5-10, 2-4.

On the women's side, Alena Krutkina/Taylor Lindsay cruised 8-0 at #1 while Chelsi Haefele and Briana Oliver rolled 8-3 to put Pfeiffer up 2-1 early.

In singles, Krutkina crushed Susane Lenz 6-1, 6-0 while Lindsay ran away from Aline Ribeiro 6-0, 6-2. Oliver and Haefele each won in straight-sets three and two, two and three.

The Falcon men swept all three doubles points as Ethon Lyon and Diego Oliveira had the easiest win at #3 going 8-1. In singles, Ben Hunter won 6-1, 6-4 while Luis Villalta won via retirement. Oliveira needed three sets to pick up his individual victory 5-7, 7-5, 10-3.

Both teams get back to action on Thursday traveling to Coker at 3:00 p.m.
